Can I Get a Witness? is a visionary sci‑fi drama starring, Sandra Oh from celebrated filmmaker Ann Marie Fleming. In a haunting near‑future where humankind has voluntarily agreed to end life at 50 to heal the Earth, young artists are appointed as documenters, bearing witness to the final days of those accepted in this radical pact. This film’s message is provocative, moving and vital in the current discourse of climate emergency.

Playing in our Supersize MilkTea initiative, we worked with Voice ESEA, Move Midlands and ESEA Creatives Scotland to host screenings of this film at:

  • Birmingham | 21 October | Mockingbird Cinema

  • London | 26 October | Finsbury Park Picturehouse

  • Edinburgh | 26 October | GMAC

  • Manchester | 26 October | King Street Townhouse

Each screening was followed by sustainability workshops with Ailsa Lyall, Cynthia Gu, Maya Patel and Hathaikan Kongaunruan and a special giveaway: an artwork by Georgina Leung, printed on seed paper.

In London, we also hosted a Q&A with Hannah Reyes Morales and Esther Lie, moderated by Chi Thai and curated by Joi Lee.

Thank you to distributor T A P E for helping us make these screenings happen.

Can I Get a Witness? is part of MilkTea’s Supersize, a project supported by the BFI with funding from the National Lottery.
