In 2024, we formally incorporated as a community interest company, with Chi helming as company director. Many of our activities and projects are created in conversation with our community and made possible through generous support from our small team of volunteers. Our volunteer team includes Casey Wong, Cynthia Gu, Graciela Mae Chico, Maylis Colin, Natalie Chak, Nia Nguyen and Vicki Brown; led on a day-to-day basis by Chi .

Chi Thai is an International Screen Star of Tomorrow, award-winning filmmaker and author whose remarkable journey has shaped her powerful storytelling. Fleeing Vietnam with her family in the 1980s, she was one of thousands of refugees risking everything in search of safety. Today, her voice resonates through groundbreaking work, including producing Raging Grace, a two-time SXSW 2023 Grand Jury Prize winner, and writing, producing, and directing Lullaby, honoured as Best Short Film at the Asian World Film Festival 2024. Her debut book The Endless Sea was published in 2025. Chi also co-authored two DEI reports, The Exclusion Act with Delphine Lievens in 2021 and Disrupt the Narrative with Delphine Lievens and Josh Cockcroft in 2024.
Vicki Brown is the Senior Sales & Distribution Executive at the BFI. She oversees the international and UK rollout of all the BFI Filmmaking Fund’s funded feature films, working closely with key the stakeholders. Recent titles include Pillion, Kneecap, Santosh, Sister Midnight, How to Have Sex and Urchin. She joined the BFI from Together Films where she was Head of Acquisitions, Sales and Distribution, a company that is one of the leaders in social impact entertainment. Prior to her arrival at Together Films, Vicki was the Director of International Sales at Altitude Film Sales, the sales arm of Altitude Film Entertainment. At Altitude, she represented such diverse and critically acclaimed titles such as Rocks, Ali & Ava, The Princess, Calm With Horses and Diego Maradona. Vicki has also previously worked at Focus Features International where she handled sales on numerous titles including Gus van Sant’s Promised Land and Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom.
