Past Lives is an atmospheric drama but also an unexpected time travel movie told through the prism of romance & nostalgia. Celine Song weaves together a profound narrative about love, loss & reunion that is, at its core, a heartfelt expression of in-yun (인연). Through Na Young (Greta Lee) & Hae Sung (Teo Yoo), childhood sweethearts hailing from Seoul whose paths cross once more two decades later, we bear witness to the manifestation of in-yun as a deep & oftentimes inexplicable human connection - an invisible thread of destiny spanning not only borders and decades but lifetimes as well.   Past Lives is a meditation on longing, on paths not taken & the hardest of goodbyes.
